The sidemount diving course is designed to teach certified divers how to safely use a sidemount dive system as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted system. The I.A.C. TEC Basic course is the entry-level course for working towards technical diving courses. A mono-cylinder with a double outlet is sufficient to start. Fundamental skills necessary for advanced recreational diving are taught. The course focuses primarily on precise buoyancy control, finning techniques, team awareness, and controlled ascents with or without a surface marker buoy. Basic procedures for handling malfunctioning equipment are also covered.
Course scope:

• 3 dives with a minimum dive time of 2 hours each
• Equipment configuration for advanced recreational diving
• Dive planning for advanced recreational divers
• Gas problems, calculation, redundancy, emergency techniques
• Explanation of waterline/trim
• Dryland training movement/fin stroke techniques

The I.A.C. Tec Fundamental course teaches the basic skills required for all technical dives. This course is the entry point into technical diving and a prerequisite for all further technical diving courses. The Tec Fundamental focuses primarily on mastering precise buoyancy control/trim, finning techniques, team awareness, and controlled ascents using a surface marker buoy. Proper equipment configuration is also a key focus.
Course scope :

• 4 dives with a minimum dive time of 4 hours each
• Determining and calculating AMV at rest and in work
• Gas loss problems, calculations, redundancy, emergency techniques
• Valve drill, mask change, OOA, underwater communication
• Handling of spool or reel and surface buoy
• Team and solo behavior during technical dives
• Maximum diving depth: 30 meters

The I.A.C. Nitrox Advanced course teaches the fundamentals of deep diving and light decompression diving with nitrox mixtures. To safely conduct decompression dives, it is essential to be able to complete the dive using the base gas if the decompression gas fails.

• 4 dives with a minimum dive time of 3 hours each
• Maximum decoration time of 15 minutes
• Maximum diving depth 40 meters
• Redundant equipment configuration for decompression dives with a decompression mixture
• Calculating AMV at rest and work
• Planning decompression dives using decompression gas
• Gas issues, gas calculations, redundancy, best mix with CNS and OTU calculations
• Runtime tables
• Using decompression software
• Use of reel or spool with surface buoy
• Dealing with and behavior towards diving partners in the team

In the I.A.C. Tec Advanced Nitrox course, you will learn the fundamentals of decompression diving with nitrox mixtures for decompression times of up to 30 minutes. The advantages and disadvantages of decompression gases ranging from 50% to 100% oxygen will be explained.

• Maximum decoration time: 30 minutes
